And right now our power is only 10% gas. It's mostly low emissions: 25% wind, 25% solar, 15% nuclear, the rest from biomass and interconnectors because they're cheaper than local gas.

Truss wanted to do something aboutthe silly way we pay for energy as though it were gas. Not quite sore what, but it needs attention so we coudl benefit from using our own N Sea fuel, and wind.

Lower life expectancy made pensions affordable, it was never meant to be a state-funded 20 year holiday. The pension age should now be much higher to reflect it, people need to work longer or save while working.

If a private pension company can have you to retire at 65 and pay you adequately for the rest of your life - and make a profit on top of it, why can't the government, with infinitely more money to play with, do the same?

They could if they removed the triple lock and adjusted each pension individually at the point of commencement based on market conditions & individual health.

But that’s not going to win many votes.
