I don't see any banjos?
What colour code you using for the new cables, should be brown for live, grey (sheathed blue) for neutral and black (sheathed gn/ye) for earth.

the place i get the cable from tlc-direct.co.uk dont do them in that colour and im going to sheath the earth when i have finished it

I know, the wire you brought is intended for three phase. This is why you need to sleeve them. You should also post a notice saying there is wiring to two versions of BS7671.

should be a label somewhere indicating the presence of 2 colour codes (theres one on that metal box in my pictures)

and theres no RCDs anywhere, at all. There should be one (two/three?) for ground floor sockets at least.

do you know anywhere where you can get single phase cable 3 core but right colours

it isnt made. you have to sleeve the cores.

out of interest, it could be worse, dan. look what an NICIEC guy did to my consumer unit:

has he extended and joined all the cable not very good is it!!

Please be aware that not all NIC EIC approved contractors do pi*s poor installs, like crafty's did.
