How good or otherwise do you reckon these will taste? Pickled onions infusing with ginger, chilli, garlic and lemon grass. Might work I guess.

wanted galangal & turmeric root, but we're too backward here for such exotic material.

Right, time to have a go soon, seems like they've had a good 5 months now.
 
I was thinking of growing some of those pickled onions on my allotment. :rolleyes:
 
I pickled small red and green chillies a year ago for the other half - still proper evil and not edible :)
 
I've found that down this neck of the woods Edes Pickled Onions are hands down the best, a little local brand, better than any supermarket stuff even the top dollar stuff from waitrose or wherever.
 
I've been infusing wild garlic and oregano with olive oil and it works really.
 
Had a packet of marmite "infused" cashews last night.... interesting combo... but probably no encore.
