I believe the first power point read speed doesn't kill
 
If he had been a non-police rider who was not speeding or jumping a red light yet hit someone in the middle of the road, the accident investigator would have calculated the time it would have taken the pedestrian to get to the point in the road they were at. They would then work out if the rider/driver could have stopped. If there was enough time - you have a case for careless driving.

From the brief video clip. I think this fits.

I once had a near miss with an old lady who ran across the road in the rain. I stopped, with my back wheel starting to lift. Usain bolt would not have kept up with her.

Happened to me too, but at a junction, I had a green light, and a mother stepped out holding hands with three kids, stretching across much of the road, in the wet. Bike went sideways, as I braked, and it ended up laid down, but I managed to stop in time. I got an apology, after I'd picked myself up.
 
The motorcyclist should have seen someone crossing the road in front of him, if he did see her then he was travelling too fast for him to react which means he wasn't looking in front of him as far as I am concerned.

If he was at the front of the convoy, his attention would have to be greater than usual, on what was happening behind him. The very last thing he could anticipate, is an escorted, high speed convoy, on blues, to have someone be daft enough to step out in front of the convoy. Ambulances, police cars, and etc., do normally ignore red lights, including red lights at pelican crossings.

He also failed to use his whistle which suggests he wasn't paying attention to what he was doing.

What whistle, did I miss something?

The training is based on Police Roadcraft and the "system", Ch1 is about attitude.

The phases of the Roadcraft system:

Information (TUG: Take, Use, and Give): This phase runs continuously and involves actively observing your surroundings, using the information to anticipate potential hazards, and signaling your intentions to other road users.
Take: Scan the environment ahead, behind, and to the sides, using all your senses to gather information.
Use: Analyze the information to make decisions and plan ahead, thinking about what other road users might do.
Give: Communicate your intentions to other drivers through signals, such as using indicators or headlamp flashes.
Position: This involves placing the vehicle in the optimal position on the road for safety, visibility, and to correctly negotiate the hazard.
Speed: Select a speed that is appropriate for the hazard and ensures you can stop safely within the distance you can see to be clear.
Gear: Select a gear that matches the chosen speed, allowing for maximum vehicle control and the ability to accelerate safely when necessary.
Acceleration: Use smooth acceleration to clear the hazard safely, adjusting to road, weather, and traffic conditions.

What whistle, did I miss something?

Yes they have a whistle that they blow to forewarn people. He was not leading the convoy, he was overtaking the convoy to go to the next junction to hold traffic up so he should have been concentrating on what is in front of him rather than behind him.
 
The SEG model is 3 riders on a rotation.

Rider 1 leads and clears traffic and remains in position until the Convoy passes, he then picks up position 3.
Rider 2 rides with the convoy and moves to position 1 when rider 1 stops
Rider 3 defends the rear and moves to position 2

In a busy, fast moving environment, it is easy to suffer information overload.

At best he prioritised keeping the convoy moving by taking pos 1 from 2, before the rider in pos 1 had given it up and adopted 3. That was a mistake. Its was rider 1s call to block the crossing not rider 2s.

Rider 1 called that out in the trial.

CPS went with the wrong charge, did they deliberately lose? I doubt it.
