Police opt out system.

I would like a system implemented, whereby if you hate the police, you can opt out from paying for them. ....
When your house is full of robbing f*ckers, and your family are threatened and raped, Don't bother phoning.

Would this register be public, so burglars can see which houses to visit?

Who ever knocks on my door, i grow a certain amount of food+chickens i would give the food if i could, then comes the gang who are hungry with guns, which gang would you join? :?:

I'd grab you, your daughters and Grandchildren onto the bus that would take you to the safe zone. Because I like you.

You mean afterwards.????

OK all joking aside, I see exactly what you're saying.

My point is though...who gives a f*ck.... they opted out....f*ck 'em.
You know I'm right

You do come up with some rubbish.

So

Women in 20's opts out
Male in 20's opts out

Male in 20's rapes women in 20's.

What happens next?

Agreed. :D

Trouble is bodge.... blaming the old bill is like chipping away of whats left of our country. FACT

WRONG the police like nursing and healthcare and any other public bodies have been destroyed by political correctnes , health and safety and a loss of sight of their original core values over management and their duty of care to the public who are seen as the enemy rather than THE PEOPLE WHO PAY THEIR WAGES AND EXPECT A DECENT SERVICE IN RETURN.

There are good and bad people in every environment and there are indeed good policemen but they are fighting a losing battle against a tide of pernicious meddling and an arrogant attitude a bit like yours that seeks to attack anyone deriding the service instead of understanding where they are coming from and why.

Bean you don't have to opt out of policing because the police do it for you anyway.
Here are the last two experiences I have had with the Police as a law abiding citizen.

Few months back driving in the outside lane of a major dual carriageway the A64 near york when an old man walked accross directly in front of me with a dog. He was attempting to cross where there was no crossing and the centre reservation had double armco.

I had to do an extreme emergency stop to avoid hitting both man and dog.
I stopped from 70mph with only a foot to spare hitting either of them, Fortunately the inside lane was free and the car directly behind me swerved to my left and went past narrowly missing me. I set off immediately as fast as I could to avoid another vehicle potentially rear ending me and killing myself and the wife. She was very shaken at both almost running someone over and almost being hit by another car at high speed as it was still going approx 50mph as it went down our inside.

Now this is not the incident I went to the police about initially. i just looked on it as one of those things and the guy being a nutcase.

Sadly that guy was run down at exactly that spot 3 weeks later and killed. When I say sadly I mean not for the old guy or his dog but for the poor motorist put through this stressfull event.
The incident made front page news on the local papers and a request for witnesses was made.
I contacted 101 to explain previous events to show that the pedestrian was habitually dangerous and that would have had an impact on any charges brought against the motorist but more importantly it would have been some source of comfort for the motorist and may have lessened any guilt he was feeling.
I was informed that the officer dealing would get back to me for a statement. After a week or so I had no response so I rang again went through the story again and again was told the officer concerened would get back to me....another week etc and I rang again and again went through my story and again was told I would be contacted for a statement.. You can guess the rest after weeks of trying to get my account recorded because I know mentally the sriver would be suffering and I knew my account could affect any charges I gave up ringing and noone ever rang me back.

Another recent occasion I came accross a pile of rocks that had been pushed onto a busy A road where a tractor had cut hedges. Wall coping stones some the size of footballs had been rolled about 2ft into the carriageway at various intervals over a distance of about 1 mile. The road was undulating and had corners and was a bus route and major highway and I thought it would only be a matter of time before someone hit one of these huge stones with potential fatal circumstances, I could not move them myself as there was nowhere safe to stop so I decided the Police with Blue lights flashing would be able to move the stones safely off the carriageway while still avoiding an accident. So I found a police car locally and tapped on the window and spoke personally to the officer to tell him of my concerns. He was about 15 minutes away from the actual site but he told me he was now going off shift back to the nick (Strange I found his car parked in the McDonalds then) and he would inform another officer to deal with it. Needless to say those stones were still there for three more days and each time I rang to report them. Eventually after four days I recieved a phone call with an apology and thanks for informing them. They will have realised when the moved them just how lucky they were noone was killed. One of those flicked up by a double decker bus or lorry just did not bear thinking about or the consequences to your tyres/wheel and car hitting them at 60mph would be catastrophic.

So there we are. That is just my RECENT experience of the police and lets be honest its hardly encouraging is it?

Police can't even push a troublemaker in a riot situation these days.

But when robbers are in our houses, or the blacks (other colours are available) are rioting in London, you all say ....Why didn't the Police steam in.

Police can't win.

Well no they can't, and it's their own damn fault.

They chased and pestered the middle classes with motoring offences, they've decided too many times to prosecute people in self defence cases, or prosecute people for inane crimes (twitter arrests), they have abused the ASBO system to criminalise non crimes.

In the case of Ian tomlinson you have an officer with a string of "previous" but had that brushed under the carpet when it goes to trial, it's understandable they look after their own, but they crossed the line to much in that case.

They have in short alienated and ****ed of the middle classes and certain areas of the press that were traditionally their allies, they have no one to blame but themselves for being unpopular.

I hear you --and have experienced the same similar things -- seriously.
I used to have respect for the police--but- not anymore .
Load of Numpties - thick as 2 short planks .
If they are not told to 'think' they dont even consider such action.

It's not a new thing-- it goes back years.

I had a serial 'jump out in front of a car nutter' in 1976 . The barsteward put a big dent in my offside wing on my 105E Ford Anglia.
I should have reversed over him after he jumped out .

Sorry lmb... I aint biting. You were on a real rant last night by the looks of it.

The correct course of action would have been to write to the Daily Mail or other newspaper (DM being my choice). You would then have seen the police act as they should have done when you reported these incidents.

It's a sad fact of life that the police (and many large companies and other organisations, for that matter) have no reason to listen to us individuals, but are suddenly put under the spotlight if the press takes an interest.

Hooray, sense at last.
Why should they want to bother anymore.
Slagged if they do, slagged if they don't.
Marvellous.

MDF... Sorry about the coping stones thing, they were far too busy dealing with a mere stabbing incident..

Mr W... I just tell it like it is. You know that.
I know which way you would vote anyway.

Chapeau's opted out.....Thank f*ck for that.

My point was....
The very people on here complaining about the demise of a country that was so gallantly fought for, are the very people selling us further down the river without even knowing it.

Madness.

Do you think covering up for bent, thuggish, useless coppers will save the country.
