Is there anything that can be done to address poor pointing. This is a new build and other than these areas the brickwork looks ok and tidy, but what has gone on here i have no idea, or maybe i am just setting my expectations too high....

Three options - render, don't look up up, or accept that it's brickwork and not made in a factory on some computer controlled production line.

If the pointing is bad all over then you have to wonder what the rest of the build is like?

To me it looks like that area's particularly poor as if they let the apprentice bricklayer have a go one Friday afternoon and he's smudged muck all over the shop!

Rainy spell when those bits were done? Wouldn’t say it’s that bad to be fair, seen far worse

The brickwork is quite poor with large cross joints, so even with better jointing up it would still look a bit rough. One of the problems with a segmental arch is when the brickwork is run in over the top and you end up with a large bed joint. The courses need carefully setting out before to avoid this if possible.
