Putting in a new kitchen and the oven and extractor hood sits plumb in the middle of the units. However the old plug socket is also right in the middle and if I were to leave it where it is then the socket would be hidden behind the chimney.

Basically is this allowed? Moving it is an option, but I'd have to get a spark in because there isn't enough spare wire to move it the required amount.

Thanks

I agree with sparkwright, if you can gain access for maintenance, inspection and testing it should be fine. Not a big fan of having accessories in this type of locations, can sometimes get a little greasy. But sometimes it is the only practical solution.
