Where is the correct position for the cooker switch/13A plug socket (measuring 85mmx145mm) in relation to work surface and hob? I've just put in a hob (50mm from tile surface) and want to know if my socket is still in the correct position. At the moment the position is as follows; the bottom of the socket is 130mm above work surface and is set over to left of hob. I am concerned that when kettle for example is plugged in the cord may be to close to the flame. Do I need to move the socket?

Building Regs recommend at least 300mm from hob or sink.
