Have been reading about shooting, and apparently under UK law(?) you can't shoot pigeons for food, only for crop pest control, or health - I think we can legally dispatch of them under health rules, but it's a bit vague.

I don't really want to, but it is getting silly. **** everywhere.

I do, but then there is bird poo all over the doormat

Plus, kids seem to find this a difficult concept. The garden is otherwise clean, nice clean grass and patio. The poo ruins it - sometimes it is about 2cm across, thought it was cats initially!

Stop feeding them and encouraging them onto the grass then.

You like your birds - are you a twitcher? We have a couple of friends that are (as well as general wild animal enthusiasts) and they go all over the place to watch and photograph them.
