we wont be able to afford to use gas. (never mind it running out)

solar energy, wind turbines, underground thermal stuff, tidal, nuclear...thats what u want.

Well the thing is that most of these 'new' energy sources will be used to generate electricity which will hopefully mean that the amount of natural gas currently used to create electricity will be drastically reduced and therefore last for ages.

Considering the main constituent of gas is Methane, by the time gas runs out there will be a substitute and then we will be on conversion again! Wooo Hooo!
