Hi, i am looking at fitting the Primed MDF window boards. I am just wondering once the MDF has been cut to size are you then able to sand down the edges to give the bullnose effect?
Thanks in advance

Sure you can, just prime again afterwards.
You can get ready bullnosed boards though, if that's easier.

You'd normally use a router to get the edge, as sanding won't give you a consistent corner, but you can't rout MDF very easily, so preformed is always best.

Having said that, if there's any chance whatsoever of your window boards getting wet (as in with tilt and turn windows leaking internally) then go for wood instead.

There is an alternative to using a router: a block plane or a spokeshave can be used to quickly rough the bullnose shape which cn then be smothed with P60 sandpaper.Finish with P80 then P100 after the desired shape has been obtained. orks well in MR-MDF but much harder work in softwood or hardwood boards
