Hi

I've got an Ideal Classic NF boiler. Normally the pump switches on the Fan comes on and then the pilot light and then the Full gas kicks in.

However tonight everything happened in the usual sequence accept the pilot light did not come on and nothing happens it just whirrs away.

Any idea's on what it could be please and roughly how long a proffesional engineer might need to fix it

Depends on what is at fault.

If the pilot injector is blocked then between 1/2 to 1 hour, depending on how good he is.

If the gas valve kaput then could be a bit longer.

Can you hear sparking?

Ollski I'm pretty sure the fan is still working as all the usual startup sounds happen except for the fire up? But I'm no expert

A very good point I'm so glad I found this site. I've just got to find a plumber who can come out today.

Thanks all
