Just a little reminder to put some food out to help our feathered friends out..I have been doing it since last week but the snow is really heavy here tonight, so tomorrow I will clear another patch and put some food out.

We had a couple hours of rain and hoorah!! the white stuff has practically gone, just a few compacted ice mounds left. :D

Ours is 6 inch deep and still pouring with snow the mrs loves it. Grandchildren have a full weekend with us.

Our chickens were ex battery hens this time last year and now are loving the snow.

And egg production is up?

As people here may already know-- I am a avid twitcher .
I buy bird food in the sackfulls.
Great birdfood on fleabay from 'the cornmill Croston' £16.99 for a 20kg sack with free delivery.
I have spent double that amount from other suppliers-which are ok- but not as good as the stuff from Croston.

Some people may think 'twitching is a bit sad' but- I truly believe we should look after our feathered friends ..
They bring enjoyment to so many people .

ps-- I make my own 'gourmet ' fat balls too.
Daily visit from woodpecker , great tits, blue, marsh, coal tits too.
Nuthatches and lots of others.
:)
