Raynor the tax dodger

Do you know what strict liability is?

Of course I know what strict liability is.

But tax evasion is not a crime of strict liability.

You are probably confusing a penalty for underpayment with a serious crime.

Look, I have zero interest in tax law. I have never actually had much interest in criminal law. But even after a short time looking into tax law today, I seem to understand it better than you.

You are just chasing him round in circles as happens to many (with him) on here.

He will twist and squirm and ask closed questions to avoid admitting he is wrong, again.

Happens so often, it's like shooting apples in a barrel.

You either pay,
legally avoid
or evade.

Whether your evasion is Fraud is a different matter. If you didn't pay what you were supposed to pay, you will get a fine. HMRC will look at any advice you took, attempt to hide or didn't take when assessing the fine. Nobody is suggesting that her tax evasion is theft, criminal fraud etc.

Its not hard.

We do not know of the advice and arrangement that were discussed and possible goals, whether there was any attempt at aggressive tax avoidance etc.

HMRC disagree. And some might argue that they should be the people who know:

Tax evasion is where there is a deliberate attempt not to pay the tax which is due. It is illegal.

It does seem too hard for you. To the extent that you seem to have resorted to making up your own laws again.

they don't you pretend they means something else.

Many tax offences are strict liability, many tax advisory offences are strict liability. That means they only have to show you did something that you shouldn't have done, there is no requirement for it to be deliberate, beyond being a conscious act.

this is what you sign when you make your declaration:

I have absolutely no idea what that is supposed to prove. All it means is that whoever is signing is saying that they believe that the information they are giving is true.

Anyway, that is the end for me. Watching you flail around is becoming painful.

It doesnt sound good for her now, Robert peston said if all this is just her own judgement she's toast....
