Got 1361, 1362 & 1363 in soft copy which were a gift, and which I do not sell copies of.
So someone bought pdf's of these specifications from BSI, and then gave them to you without keeping copies themselves.
At current prices:
BS1361 £120
BS1362 £120
BS1363-1 £168
BS1363-2 £168
BS1363-3 £180
BS1363-4 £138
That was a very generous gesture. Of course any other scenario would represent copyright theft to the value of some £894, but I'm sure you wouldn't have any truck with that!
It was nice. That was a very generous gesture.
I don't know what his terms of use were for the documents.Of course any other scenario would represent copyright theft to the value of some £894,
Not knowingly.but I'm sure you wouldn't have any truck with that!

And there's another one called clutching at straws. There used to be an expression which began "Ignorance of the law..." or something like that.
I think the lesson you need to learn is that there is a big difference between buying what is obviously pirated material and being given PDF files of old BS standards.Still, I think the lesson to be drawn is not to call people foul names for doing something that you do yourself, but don't like to admit to.
I think the old editions should be made available Free Of Charge in PDF format to those who want it.
Current edition should stay as it is.
