Can anyone tell me what the Songle relay switch job is in electronics. Is it to turn the voltage from 240 to 12 v ?

No

It is a switch to switch the 240 volt circuit. The switch is operated and thus the 240 volt circuit is switched ON when 12 volts DC is applied to the coil of the relay.

The 12 volts will be produced by a power circuit somewhere else ( probably on the same PCB ) and controlled by something on the PCB

Ok thanks. I have a steam room which will not power on. It has a control panel in the steam room ( Just controls) and the main Electronics box which goes ontop of steam what get wired into mains.. The electronic box is what I believe to be at fault. I have put a picture of the inside of it. It has a fuse which was not blown but I changed to new just incase. It has 240v going into the electronic box on multimeter. I just thought the relay might of gone and should show 12 v coming out, hence my question. Is there anything else I can check ?

That's not going to be easy to diagnose, except for someone who knows what "normally" goes wrong with that particular product.
How friendly are the manufacturers?

Having said that, do check for any loose connections or signs of burning/overheating of individual components.

Do that, no problem I just order a whole new electronic box .

Just thinking then. I have not checked the fuse spare spare to see if the wires are still connected. The red neon is lit up on the fuse spur but could the neutral be loose. If the neutral was loose would the light still come on with just the live in. ?

The FCU's with neons I have wired have the neon across the outgoing L&N.

That way, you know the fuse has blown if the neon extinguishes.

If either the incoming or outgoing neutral disconnects, the neon will go out.

Inside the unit if everything is turned off ( no loads between Live and Neutral ) then there could be enough stray capacitive coupling between Neutral conductors and Earth conductors / metal work to allow the neon to glow.
