The previous owners had a conservatory fitted & did not change the guttering.

I'm now left with a 70mm pipe that runs through the conservatory.

My plan is to terminate it above the conservatory roof & install new flashing.

Reading Building Regs Part H states I'm okay to make this change but #H3-1.9:
Where a rainwater pipe discharges onto a lower roof or paved area, a pipe shoe should be fitted to divert water away from the building. Where rainwater from a roof with an effective area greater than 25m2 discharges through a single downpipe onto a lower roof, a distributor pipe should be fitted to the shoe to ensure that the flow width at the receiving gutter is sufficient so that it does not over-top the gutter.

Can someone explain to me what a distributor pipe is?

Thanks.

Can you connect a downpipe elsewhere on your house guttering and avoid this one all together.

@Notch7 - Unfortunately not, the conservatory runs the entire width of the property

@catlad - Is there a different name for this fitting, My google-fu is coming up empty for products. The best I've been able to find is 'downpipe spreader' but I can't find any purchase links

I would be tempted to put in a bend, run down pipe over the cons roof and into the box gutter.

Itll prob need an adjustable downpipe bend. Screwfix do a floplast one.

If you discharge directly onto the roof you will get staining and debris building up.

@Notch7 - I think you're right. discharging directly onto another roof will cause problems later on. I'm going to do what you suggested. Thanks.
