Replacing 7.5KW Shower With 9KW Shower

Hi Everyone,

My grandad would like to have his old electic shower replaced thats a 7.5KW to a 9KW shower, would there be any problems reguarding the type of cable or anything like that?

It is very unlikely to be a straight swop tbh.
What size cable is currently feeding it and what size fuse/MCB?
Does the circuit have RCD protection?
 
Yes there could be issues if the wiring is only capable of powering a lower-powered shower. 7.5KW is 32amps. 9KW is nearly 40amps so you may need to have the cabling and fuseboard upgraded

You'll need to fit an RCD if one is not there already

Really,you need an electrician to look at what is there.
