Hi everyone,
Looking for some technical checks and advice on a multi-stage drainage and garden project I’m tackling.
We’ve removed a concrete path that was surrounding the whole house as it was sitting two brick courses above the damp proof revealing the downpipes and utilities at ground level.
Currently, the rainwater downpipes run straight across/into my neighbour’s garden which is an unknown variable. The idea is to divert them into a large rainwater storage tank at the side of the house and run the overflow via a solid pipe down to the front garden into a perforated land drain right through the space as its being turned into a full allotment to help irrigate the plot sub-surface.
While the ground is open, we are also installing a new waste pipe at the side of the house. This needs to travel around the building to connect to the original soil pipe so we can site a new washing machine under the stairs.
Im planning a railway sleeper retaining wall to secure the existing fencing running into the rear garden, with wood chip paths throughout the plot.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
