There's a chippy over the road from my shop. The owner of the building (3 shops and a 5 bedroom flat) works part time at our shop and has been telling me that the whole building's just been rewired. I went into the chippy and while i was waiting i saw that the kebab heater, microwave and fridge were on a 3-way block, in the same double socket as the heated thing for gravy, peas etc. There was an extension lead running the length of the ceiling, to a television by the window, plugged in behind the counter. FFS. I hate to think what inadequacies there are in the butchers and the florists. 
Its not like it would have been hard to wire in a few more double sockets, as the whole lot is in trunking.
