Why should people be discriminated against for something which people have no choice?

Gasman,,, whether you like it or not, we all discriminate. Look round this forum, we have people who discriminate against other on religious grounds (hot topic at times)
We're human, there's always choices... I merely pointed out that homosexual relationships are naturally sterile,,, and therefore go against nature. (hence unnatural)

You don't have a problem with gays
Not at all. ..... I do however have a problem with those who strive to ram , homosexuality down our throats (in the media ,,,, metaphorically speaking) ;) ;)

'We all discriminate' is that a a Royal We?

Speak for yourself!

Televisions, contraception, motorcars and dentistry are unnatural. So?

The pope has taken a vow not to sexually reproduce. This is both sterile and unnatural. Should it be illegal?

'marriage' should not be changed simply to make a minority feel happier.

Putting aside the argument as to what the word marriage actually means.

If the state stays out of it, then it is up to churches what they do and what they call 'marriage' and who they 'marry', but then anyone else, or any other institution is also free to use the word as they see fit.

If the word has legal protections and is defined and protected by the state, then it is defined by majority vote.

As has happened.

It is natural to scrub and hunt for food and to die when you are no longer able to physically care for yourself.

It is not natural to stick needles into your arm, to inject chemicals and formulas to protect against disease.

It is not natural to preserve against bacteria and decay of food using vacuum packaging and preservative formulas.

Nor is it natural to clean water with metals, chemicals and processes to ensure it stays free of harmful bacteria / Dysentery is a perfectly natural way to die.

Shove your 'natural' argument up yer bum.

this helps sum it up.

romans 1;22

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

King James Version (KJV)

Less than half the population voted and for some reason the pillow munchers are hailing victory.
As always in these cases. Minorities rule.

Why did they even have a referendum? No doubt the government was lobbied by fervent gay rights activists.

They need a referendum for constitutional change.
Unlike the UK which has no written constitution but relays on law and precedent.

62% of the vote, I think, is a majority.

Interesting use of fervent. You don't get many apathetic activists!

King James Version (KJV)

As Usual, selective nonsense that ignores the rest of the law.

Would you stone someone who kept a goat in a field with sheep? Or who wore clothes made of different fibres? Don't just pick some bible rules, follow them all.

What happened to the teachings of Jesus? Where does he say that people on earth should judge others?

He said all the law could be reduced to two simple things

'Love God' ' and 'Love your neighbour'

How does that fit in with prejudice ?

From the teachings of Jesus loving your neighbour didn't encompass boning him.

Is that what you think?
