Hiya

This is a question to anyone who has worked on a sandstone house or is an expert. The coping has worn away to nearly nothing in some areas on my house, replacing it is silly money. Should I get it built back up? Should I ignore it and go for the pvc gutter and facias thing? The roof finishes level with the sandstone wall (no overhang) and the gutter was replaced from heavy metal ones to small pvc ones before I moved in. THese are too small and the water comes in over the wall, under the gutter. What do I do that is most effective - other than choke my neighbours who wont pay their half!!!! Is lead from under slates to outside wall an option behind the gutters? I really dont know. I really could do with some advice. Please help.

it is difficult to assess without a photo or a site visit.

lead may work provided that the expansion rules are adhered to without compromising the leads' ability to weather.

if it is just a case of getting the water from the roof and into the gutter without soaking the wall then i'm sure you could be accommodated. fixing the gutter/fascia/eaves weathering, may be a challenge.

it is just doing it so that the n'bours don't get a share! :p
