Rotten rafter and horizontal beam on wall

Hi all,
Want to replaster and found this disaster behind. It appears the end of the rafter is rotten and the base beam also not sure on technical terminology) has also rotted away completely at this point but is still solid at the next rafter. Is this rafter fixable?
It appears there was a recent patch job but unsure on the efficacy of this. I’ll add the valley above and the flashing at the wall had failed and recently got it sealed with a view to replacing in summer.

Not too clear what we're looking at there, is this a ye oldie loft conversion? That's the ceiling we're looking at correct? Got some photos from further away? Make sure all the photos are the right way up too.

Building is an upper flat in a block of four. This is in a cupboard and the part of the roof visible is a sloping bit overhanging at the bottom of the roof where it meets the exterior wall.

Thanks for the reply. The building is an upper flat in a block of four. Looking at the inside of cupboard, on the ceiling where the sloping end of the roof overhangs the exterior wall. Hopefully pictures are better. I have also added a picture of outside with arrow to show where it is.

Those look like holes in the timber, if so you have wood boring insect attack and need specialist treatment of all affected timber

OP,
Your last pic indicates that the water damage is below where the valley ends - & possibly the gutter & RWP on the projection - very common spots for penetrating water.
Pics taken on the roof would help for advising you.
There are a couple of simple methods for fixing any water penetration.

The perished timber in the loft would be best removed & replaced with new treated timber. Better pics showing inside the loft would help?
