RSJ price

Hi

Just wondering what it will cost me to buy an RSJ @ 10 foot long

This will be going into an interior load bearing wall that is in-between my kitchen and back room, obviously plan to make an open kitchen dining area

Prices vary depending who you buy from. Who are you going to buy from?
RIng them and tell them the size of UB you need and they will tell you the price.

For this length would a UB be better or cheaper than a RSJ?

Will be making some calls tomorrow I was just hoping someone could give me a ball park figure

Ball park, £50-£60 depending where you buy from and size 8"-10" etc

It would help if you mention the section size to the steel merchants, as this will make a difference to the price - as well as being quite relevant to actually being able to support whatever is above it

Surprised no-one has asked, but what size does your structural engineer say you should use?
No engineer? You just landed on a snake, back to square one.

I've found that a lot of building inpsectors will tell you what size steel you need for simple jobs
