meteors and asteroids are all in the orbital plane but comets can come from any direction.
Antarctica is known as a good place to find meteors because they stand out against the ice.
Did someone say they weren't?? Being in the orbital plane means being in the same plane as the planets, meteorites and asteroids are believed to be debris left over from the formation of the planets out of the suns planetary disk.
Comets are believed to come from the Oort cloud, a huge cloud of billions of them completely surrounding the solar system much further out than Pluto. Hence they can come from any direction not just the orbital plane.
That's right, but being in the orbital plane makes them a bit easier to spot because they're coming from a predictable direction.
Comets can't be spotted so easily because they can come from anywhere in the sky.
I think you will find they usually come from above, although i've been wrong in the past, this time i think i got it right, they usually come from up there and fall down here.. Simples..
