Hi all fellow diy'ers... just wondered if anyone else on here has had problems with the ryobi sliding mitre saw recall.Been told every month since october it will be here the next month..now they are saying end of jan. They say the replacements are coming from hong kong and that they are still waiting for them.Feeling it may be a case for watchdog :D

the only faulty ones were Sold at Bunnings Warehouse and Mitre 10 stores throughout New Zealand from February 2008 to March 2010. or is this another fault!

yeah apparently it was something about the blade guard or blade fracturing The models affected have serial numbers

- from 0208000825 to 0509001796 and
- from 072009001797 to 122009002196
but still waiting for my replacement

The saw was not locked in place for transit and i,m sure its one thats been reconditioned then sent back out with old packaging very dissapointed with Ryobi, not able to get my money back now so stuck with it. Never touch a ryobi product again after service is rubbish. :( :(

I had one of these - was faulty on day one. The blade was basically in contact with the blade guard the whole time, so the first time I used it shards of metal and sparks came flying out the saw.

Took it back and got a Bosch GCM 12 SD  Won't buy cheap again.
