We have a commercial freezer its made by sadia but im not sure of the model number. its a upright one and has ellments on each self.

the problem we are having is that the top selfs have started getting ice on them. the top self is very bad and is full of ice, this is manly at the front of the self towards the door.

is this becuase of air coming in from the door from a hole or somthing else.

any help would be appreciated.

thank you

Check the door Seal around the door, there should be a magnetic strip in the seal that attaches itself to the door frame so creating a seal. put a piece of paper between the seal and the door case, shut the door and pull the paper out slowly and you should feel a slight resistance. If the paper comes away easily or the paper in fact falls out, then you need a new seal.
Also check the seal inside and make sure there are no splits in the rubber.

Hope this helps

The elements will clog up with ice anyway. Commercial freezers aren't known for their efficiency or air-tighness. Though I have seen freezers of the type you describe, which suck the air out when you close the door, creating a better seal. Its a bugger to open though!

The best thing to do is use wire baskets on each shelf. The pulling and pushing of the baskets scrapes the ice off the shelf tops (and onto the floor).
