I have a hardwired samsung BT621VDST oven, it's been working fine but all of a sudden there is a red horizontal bar that appears. When I turn the knob onto "single" mode, nothing happens (the fan won't even turn on). Any advice?
Important - This problem started to occur when my son left 4 small plastic containers in the oven, then my wife turned on the oven to use it unaware the containers were on the bottom shelf. So melted plastic was everywhere, which I've mostly cleaned.
Troubleshooting steps:
1. Tried turning off the red isolator switch for 30 minutes then trying again.
2. Turned the circuit breaker switch off and on again.
3. Tried setting the clock.
4. Pressed the set cooking time button to see if I could change it, but nothing happens.
5. Upper mode, twin cooking, and lower mode works fine. It's just single mode that doesn't work.
Is the oven doomed? Do I need to consider buying a new one or is it repairable?
