My Samsung american-style fridge freezer was making an awful racket, and was frosting up. Making sure that the missus wasn't jamming so full that the internal vents could actually, vent, solved the problem.
Hope that sorts it.

I wouldn't bank on it; it's a common problem due to poor design.

Ours didn't have a problem for more than three years. Give it time!

Sorry - I'll be a bit clearer.
We had the freezer for about two yrs before the problem. After a few months of putting up with it, I cleared the vents. No problems since.

What I meant was that the problem can re-occur some time after defrosting unless the sensor or other faulty components are exchanged. That's what the engineer told me, anyway.
