search difficulties

how do i search for ,say, posts on 31 october 2004? I find the search facilility on this site bizzarre. perhaps it's just me.

On most forums the search is strange. This forum does not have a search by date facility

Do you want any posts from a given date, or do you have other criteria?

You can search on other things, and sort by date, then home in on the date you want by jumping forward through the results...

What i do is find someone like your self who was a member then, with a low amount of posts.
Who posts in the relevant forum.
Search his posts for one near that date, then use the next and previous post button to work through, not always in order though.

Thank you for the informative replies. I'm about to try the suggestions. BAN, i had tried "re-setting an RCD or MCB" and it didn't work out, too much peripheral info. Thanks again.
