Not dealt with them, but from their website:
£199 print costs
£199 admin fee
£15 per week for at least 2 years = £1560
+ VAT

So sign up and you will be paying well over £2200 for a completely unproven and probably worthless little card on a noticeboard.
Not only that, most of the people who would see the advert card will have no intention of paying someone to do electrical work, because it's in a DIY store.

There must be better ways to spend £2200.

When I was S/E, I was approached many times to put cards in these machines: A COMPLETE RIP-OFF!! DON'T DO IT!!!

A local phone book ad?

I paid £800 for a quarter column in Manchester South YP in the late 90's.

That, surprisingly, got me very little work. I know this because YP gave me a unique phone number & tracked all calls to that number.

Which made it exceptionally easy to refuse to advertise with them.

"Hello, Mr Abbott, I'm ringing to ask if you wish to advertise with us again."

"No."

"Er...why?"

"The predicted sales were not as I was promised."

"How can you be sure of that?"

"You tracked the phone calls to my company..."

"Ahh........"

HAHA, yea, can't really argue when it was their own system that told you that they've failed!

word of mouth and good service is the best way to get work i believe! :)

Thanks chaps that’s what I thought it might be.
I always turn them away myself but in this instance a mate of mine asked my opinion.

Two of the sellers ploys were

"I`ve been passed your details by a colleague" - ( Well his mate in the search dept would fit that description so it’s not actually untrue)

and

"You’re not going to make loads of extra sales thru this but at about £11 a week for 24 months it might be worth trying" - about £1144 + VAT if you`re tied in

for £2200 you can get a half decent van and have it sign written, then just park it on the carpark near the exit and leave it there...

much more visible and more likely to be seen by everyone than a little card in a holder..
it also wouldn't hurt hanging about the area that your business covers whilst wearing a company shirt with the name and number on it and offering friendly advice to anyone who looks lost or out of their depth..
