shaver socket from lighting citcuit

I got the £500 quote from some overpriced part p electrician, seriously for a shaver socket, these guys are unreal. But I didn't pay it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 minutes on google and then done it myself.

Now thats why Ed hates online advise, because he loses his bread and butter lol

Don't be scared or let people like Ed scare you off. A little bit of simple research and do it yourself.

Work carried out in a bathroom is notifiable under part P. Doesnt say with the exemption of DIY.

It is perfectly acceptable for notifiable work to be carried out by unqualified persons - they just need to notify it and get it checked.

Refusing to share knowledge with diy'ers is protectionist and can even be dangerous since the diy'er is still likely to give it a go.

edzblue didn't care about that 2 months ago - he sure as hell doesn't care about it now.

And I think that after a few dozen posts which seemed more about wanting to create a closed shop where nobody but a "qualified" electrician is permitted to do anything more than switch a light on and off, he must have moved on. Last post on the forum was May 9.
