Why not feed the half dead birds to the poor foxes, I'm sure they would prefer to be ripped to shreds and eaten alive, than be used for target practice.

Not to anyone in particular peaps there's more than one nut in the thread.
Just seemed strange that it's ok to rip animals etc to bits and eat them alive, but not to shoot them first. Does that apply to Deer etc as well.
Should I report the fox to the authorities next time he kills the chicken.

A Farmer built a trap to catch wild birds, the when they were weak from a lack of food and water he would let them out for his young son to shoot with a shotgun. Some older people saw it from a cottage and told someone they knew. He objected and felt he had an equal right to save the birds and so smashed the trap.
