I am looking to buy the cheapest Auris or Civic, my main priority is boot space with the back seats down, I have measured them and they are about the same. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on a Auris or Civic. I am biased towards Toyota because of my long satisfying ownership of a reliable Corolla and they are the nearest dealership to me which is within walking distance. The cheapest ones are the 1.2 turbo Auris or 1.4 Civic, the retail for the Auris is approx £2000 more but has 5 years guarantee whereas the Civic is only 3 years guarantee, I could of course buy extended guarantee. It looks like the Auris boot would take a full size spare, ie I assume that the floor pan has not been changed from when the spare was supplied, both are supplied with just a repair kit.
After a car is out of guarantee, I do my own repairs, so which is the easiest car to work on? The Civic engine looks a very close to the back of the dash but I have not looked at the Auris yet.
