BBC have made a formal apology then, but no compensation. We'll have to see what Donald says tomorrow.
Personally, I think the BBC are happy with the focus on Trump as it draws attention away from BBC Arabic, that's an area that needs more looking at.

The president has no public events at all on his schedule for today, before he flies to Florida for a weekend out of the spotlight. Not even a blurb on his s-m website. I'm sure he'll accept the apology with his usual good grace and leave it at that.
So it’s been revealed that BBC News night also transmitted a very similar edit. This was called out on air as it was going out LIVE by an American who noticed it was an an edit.

If they didn't think or know it was an error in the first place, the second airing would not have been considered an issue either.
