Are you missing Alf Garnett, Andy?
Believe it or not I never liked Alf Garnett, or BBC comedy in general. Till Death...is currently being repeated on one of the old TV channels The 90s version in which he has a gay, black home help. Unfunny crap.

Of the old TV shows which are now considered offensive I loved Mind Your Language and Benny Hill, but because they were funny, not because they were offensive. They had no political message.

Johnny Speight said that 'Til death us do part' had an anti racist message.
Maybe the message was too subtle for some to grasp.
Alf Garnett was portrayed as a ridiculous character and figure of fun.

The early version of Til death us do part were funny and quite original, although i agree that the later series was rubbish.
