About four years ago we bought our house and did it up.
We laid wood flooring and let the wood acclimatise in the house for three weeks but hadn't taken into account the amount of plastering we had had done. Fortunately we only laid it in a couple of rooms.
Unfortunately the floor has shrunk over time. Round the edge we laid it under the skirtings and there is now a 5mm gap at some of the edges. This will be an easy fix with quadrant.
The harder part is gaps in the middle of the floor. There are a couple of 1cm gaps between boards right across the room.
Whats the best fix for this. Would it be possible to glue and cramp the boards together or should I lay a strip of similar wood in the gap? Or is there another better method?
With thanks
