Hi from newbie to this forum,

I know there are a lot of new electrical wiring regulations in place now so please could someone clarify.

As a complete DIYer but with competent knowledge and without qualification am I allowed to do the following without having to notify anyone or get it checked afterwards.

From an existing 13amp socket on the ring main run a spur cable to a double socket about 3 mtrs away.

Thank you.

That's fine.

Make sure that the socket you are taking power from is on the ring and is not already a spur.

That's great. The socket I am taking the supply from is on the master ring.

Many Thanks
