Yes, although most "Scots Irish" identify as just American these days.
They predate the Irish Catholic migration from Ireland by around 100 years or more.
They were mostly Presbyterians from what was then Ulster.
Although it has to be admitted that they too,faced discrimination and hostility from Quakers and Anglicans in America.
They were sent to the frontier to create a buffer zone.
