I want to upgrade my ventilation system to be controlled by my home automation server running Home Assistant, but I've been told that I must use fused spurs for the extraction system.

has anyone heard anything about this product

is it safe, is it compliant, is it any good?

I'm all zigbee and all home assistant as it's kept local and runs without an Internet connection. absolutely nothing wifi or which requires a third party app that could be changed or discontinued after purchase. I've been badly burned before so the trust has gone.

Click were an ok brand ime

Its a smart spur same idea as a smart socket , not much else to say there

Supplied with a gasket for 25mm back boxes

Why? Not saying that is wrong, but I can't think of any reason why.

Like you, I have had some problems with smart devices, I have lost one plug in smart socket adaptor, three smart light switches, and two smart sockets, so I favour using adaptors now, as easy to replace if it fails.

I use google home to integrate my devices, mainly as I have Nest Mini speakers, I have looked at controlling fans, if inside is over outside temperature and inside temperature is over 22 degrees C to run a fan would be good drawing in air from outside, but as yet not found an easy way to do this.

By whom? What reason do they give? What circuit feeds your ventilation system? What power do the fans/heaters/etc.,. consume (in total as well as individually)?

Anyways a fused spur can feed a plug/socket ;)

There are suitable switches than can be built into suitably deep wall boxes or even inline on flexible cables:
Meross Matter Smart DIY Switch (16A rated) & Meross Matter Smart Light Switch (10A rated) are examples from the brand of smart plug-in switches I use.

Other marques are available.

I have a ring main in the crawlspace that feeds a power shower on the floor below which I was going to patch it in. it's only 48w

Plug and socket, FCU, an inline fuse holder somewhere, a chassis mounted fuseholder in the device, it's all the same.

That reply from Ven Taxia should be disregarded , as it refers to 'I.E.E. regs'. It's been the IET for the last 20 years, so if the rest of their knowledge is as outdated as that, it all should be ignored.
There are no 'regs' of any kind that require an FCU for anything.

I've had all kinds of mixed messages about this.
