US says 'no free trade deal with UK unless digital tax scrapped'

The threat had been "communicated to the UK government at multiple levels", the newspaper said, quoting a source as saying: "The message was, 'if you go ahead and introduce this tax, we will not begin free trade negotiations with you'."

Of course unless the NHS is handed over to US pharma giants, or US exporters get preferential treatment then there won't be a 'free trade' deal either...

Of course bojo and that well known racist farage couldn't care less!

Does it have something to do with the fact the worlds biggest 5 companies are digital and, err American?

Trump cant afford to do it, his trade war with China has already meant he has had to put billions into the industries suffering.

Or probably that China and the EU can tell the US to 'go do one'...

The UK on it's own being minnow compared with the newer large economies and the world's biggest trading bloc, will have to roll over and be grateful for any crumbs that fall off the trade deal table

Don't usually discuss politics but the way Trump has been behaving, and continues to do so, he will create his own downfall.
The sooner the better IMO.

Trump can do one.

MOD: offensive language removed.

So you're saying that to qualify for a trade deal with the US we need to give them the NHS, do you have a link to your source for that little gem?

The EU couldnt get a decent trade deal, what chance does the UK?

American privatisation is already creeping into the NHS. Look at Plasma resources UK......

Look at Virgincare. Still, at least Richard Branson has all his holdings offshore so we wont have the inconvenience of having to tax him.

Nah...

Got it off the US envoy who said that "access to the NHS would be "on the table" in a post-Brexit trade deal with the US."

All you ever get in a urinal is p iss on your shoes

A further indication of where we are heading...

Food industry seeks no-deal competition waiver

"The UK food industry has asked the government to waive aspects of competition law to allow firms to co-ordinate and direct supplies with each other after a no-deal Brexit."

We were told that brexit would bring in more competition and lower prices...

Seems porkies were being told
