Strictly speaking the neutrals are the wrong way round too. But should only be a solid connection in a polyphase meter.

Yes, neutral and L3 reversed. As you say, Neutral makes no difference.

The cables in L1 & L2 were 10mm (or imperial equivalent) and VIR which was in very poor condition and falling off in several places.

Did not even try to trip the RCD, did not know if it was going to fall apart if i breathed on it to hard :D
 
No joke, I sneezed into a (de-energised) board once and dislodged some rubber insulation.... :eek:
 
There looks to be a lack of consumer fusing, and I can't see an earth to any of those exposed conductive parts.
