spurring more than 1 socket off the ring.

Just a really quick question.
When you spur off the ring with more than one socket, then a fused spur must be used.
Question I have is, does the spur need to go next to the new socket or the spurred socket...
And what if there is no room near either.

not necessarily, but it should be the first port-of-call for the new cable leaving the existing socket
And what if there is no room near either.
