You are uploading the pics fine, its just that the dialogue boxes are too small to read on the last ones because you have captured the whole screen rather than just the window.

Going out for beer soon, maybe you should do the same!

I think I got that after i chose advanced on the screen before it

I tried clicking the computer name
It said i think
searching for plug and play
Nothing seemed to happen though

i tried the screenshot but it came out blank
so i had to reboot it still the other way

it scared me because it started talk of erasing the hard drive.

It is a good idea to backup your data (especially valuable stuff like Photos) to CD once a month or so.

One way to do it is with files & Transfer Wizard.

If you have stored all your data safely you need not be so scared of anything happening to your hard drive.

It is actually worth keeping the CDs out of the house, then you willl still have them in the event of a fire

I realise what you mean now I have not got ordinary cd but have 4.7 GB DVD-R discs what I use in myrecorder though

I have actually got a vista disc but not done it yet, I may soon give up with all the faults soon
install that and see if that is better

But from what you have read do you think I could do it.
I did set all the modem up ok
I know people slate vista but for what I do it should be ok
I have nothing worth backing up really, but proberly will some time.
When I do the vista I assume I copy the hard drive first.
Will I need to buy a seperate hard drive one or can I use a disk or card

For Gawd's sake don't install Vista!!!! I've yet to find anybody that's managed to get their internet connection to go first time - worse if it's a wireless connection too!

Right, when you uninstalled that PCI device before, did you restart your computer and did the install new hardware pop up box appear again, or did uninstalling it fix this problem?

If you didn't restart, could you go back to device manager and right click on PCI device and uninstall it, then restart your computer and see if that solves the problem.

Let me know what happens after that.

Its been quite a day
I just went to the other log in
It starts then says I need to be admin to install it
I think that place was where i was logged in when i first plugged in yhe phone.

I think I did do what you said and because it was the same, i then uninstalled the bus,i am sure the pci device had come back as well
I will go now and do it again

This is only ONE problem though

Right
uninstalled the pci device
this is between pc bus and plug and play on the list
it was X before and then it was gone
restarted
STILL the same thing
Went back in
pci device with a has come back
DISABLED it now and left with a X
There is next to it when expanded an option to update the driver, not tried yet

One thing, why if the prompt box is ticked on the wizard screen does it keep coming back, or is that what is hard to work out
