Cooker and sockets on the same RCD probably won't be as much as an issue regarding regulation set 314. I was thinking sockets and lights! What dunno about the 40A supply tho, is that big enough for I assume a kitchen socket circuit and a cooker?
i try to stay away from domestic electrics as much as possible but im amazed how many boards ive seen with a 30ma rcd up front protecting everything.
i can kind of understand it on TT systems (altough its lazy not to fit the 100ma time delay rcd and split the installation) but ive seen it on TNS systems. some of it done widespread by council sparks when updating housing estates.
to me its poor practice and doesnt comply. i wonder however with the introduction of the 17th whether we may see this even more, although with the latest ''17th boards'' most will use these. me personally i like rcbo's although the pocket doesnt
