Hi all,
I consider myself being just about capable of doing no more than swapping sockets and switches (like-for-like) when it comes to DIY electric work around the house and no more as I respect the trade and don't want to be blown up! However, I need to swap a dimmer switch (currently this exact switch) and replacing it with this one.
So, the only difference between the two switches with the current crappy 'smart' dimmer is that it takes a neutral and the new one doesn't. So, I capped that with a Wago and just installed the L1 and L2 lines pretty much like for like.
Here's a pic before I removed the wires form the current switch:
And here is a pic of my new wiring in the new dimmer:
I've tried swapping them both from L1 to L2 but both ways doesn't work at all. Made sure they're all in tight. Although, there's 3 'L1' wires going in to there same socket (just like the last one) and it's tight fit but other than that, it should have enough power to power the dimmable spotlights.
Anyone have any ideas - I'm sure it's easy for a pro! Let me know if I've missed out any crucial info in order for you to help.
Thanks all.
