Are we really so young and juvenile as to need being nannied. There are so many ways around that its baffling and someone who swears consistently is going to get a punch in the mouth in public.

Do it on the net and you show your self up as having a limited vocabulary,
but on the odd occasion, there is the urge for an expletive.

There is imo nothing wrong with removing swear words from the forum, if you want to read a forum filled with swearing then feel free to go elsewhere.

You might not be too young - but little Johnny and his sister who look at the forum while dads getting a beer probably are.
This is not a forum closed to minors - even if you think none would be interested in a diy forum you might be surprised how many are . . .

Pyro - get your head out of your **se and ask yourself why "Ooh - not in front of the children" is routinely used to justify sanitising words which aren't even real obscenities/swearing, and yet the same pondlife who do that allow, just as routinely, racists and violent thugs to advocate arson, torture, murder etc on this site.
