Hi all,
I'm doing a cellar conversion, and one room will have two lighting zones: ceiling lights and wall lights. Ceiling lights will be energy efficient so need a simple switch, wall lights will be dimmable and I'd like a dimmer. Both switch and dimmer will be in the same place, just inside the door.
Is there a way of making this happen with a single-unit "switch"?
You can get 2-gang switches and 2-gang dimmers, but I haven't been able to find a switch and dimmer in one.
Is it possible to get a 2-gang dimmer and wire the second dimmer not to dim, just to switch? I ask because my parents have one which (undesirably for them) has always worked like this - presses on/off, but turning it does nothing - and that would suit me fine. I suspect it's broken (and always has been) but it would be very handy.
Thanks!
