Hi , i was looking at the back of some plastic roker switches at work and the writing on the switch said 10 ax . It was obviously a 10 amp switch but what did the x represent. I thought it might be for inductive loads.

Ive never seen a switch give its inductive rating, ive seen it on an APT time clock once though.

The X simply means it does not need derating for inductive loads.

If there is not an X then you must derate the stated current rating
