Hi All and Experts

I have started on my extension. In a week I am going to have my combi boiler removed and stored until I am ready to have it re-fit into new location.

My question is what is the best way to store it (stopping any parts seizing). I am sure all of you will know. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

what combi is it, cause if it isnt a prt L compliant you are not going to be able to fit it (unless you get an approved person to ascertain the excemption points)

If it is a part l compliant keeping it in a warmish and very dry place will be fine

Corgiman, could you just clarify yor thread, as the boiler isn't being replaced just re- sited does part L (steamer) come into force. i thought this was only for replacements or new install. I've recently resited my old boiler (non-steamer) in my new extension and building regs paased it off with out being part l compliant because as far as they were concerned it was still in the same room but on a very new wall.

well some people think as you are going to have to move the gas you have to re commison the appliance ergo it falls underpart l

some dont.

let the big old arguement commence

If you are really happy to have a less efficient boiler and your BCO is happy then thats fine.

Depending on the costs involved I would have to say that MOST people I know ( Social groups A/B ) would take the opportunity to upgrade to a more efficient boiler and benefit from knowing that they are contributing to reducing global warming and their bank balance!

Hi Corgiman

It's Vaillant ecomax 828E (Condensing) 3 year old.

In that case it IS Part L compliant and totally acceptable to everyone!

We are all very happy that you are contributing to reducing global warming!
